I am so glad to have read your piece first this morning, This is probably the only positive news on the medicare available that I have read in the the last few years. Unfortunately the price of hospital admission is to be very ill.
What a magnificent tribute to the workers in health.
Your phrase “Even Homer nods “reminds me of one classic quote in the Supreme Court of Canada.
John Robinette Q.C acting for Walter Williston Q.C,when met with a.grouchy statement from the Court”well, how come Mr Williston didn’t raise this argument before in the Court of. Appeal and at trial??!!”
Thank you for sharing these great observations about Canada's health care system! I had a similar positive experience a couple of years ago when I was very sick and hospitalized for 6 days. My husband and youngest son have also received excellent care when both required surgery recently. While our system is likely underfunded and our caregivers are overburdened by trying to do more with less we should recognise and appreciate the excellent care and service they provide! The value of having a good public health care system is priceless when your family is in need. I also agree that Diversity is Canada's superpower!
Thank you for observing and expressing this so well. We have witnessed in recent days at close range something similar for a friend of ours in a different hospital, where the care has been exemplary and compassionate. Such examples, like a plane landing safely at Pearson, are not newsworthy but happen with equal frequency
Couldn’t agree more, Philip. The bureaucracy of the Medicare system is an ongoing irritation, but once you get through the doors and into the hands of the medical pros, you know you’ve arrived in the right place. Thanks to all those thousands of Canadian workers, from the highest to the lowest.
Thanks for this.

Perhaps the final Doc would have connected with your parting comment if you had said, "Thank God for Kiefer Sutherland's grandfather!" ;-)
