I’ve always taken consolation from this thought, Philip: we don’t truly die until every last person who knew us and who remembers us with warmth has died. It’s only then that the candle finally goes out. The memory of Murray will last a very long time. Thank you for writing about him so movingly.

This made me teary. Thanks for this lovely portrait of Murray and your friendship with him. I sent it to my two lifelong Montreal friends. I feel the same bond with them.

Thanks for the wonderful, eloquent words Philip. Murray was so many things; wise, funny, thoughtful but most of all a great friend.

Absolutely perfect Philip …. Thank you. Not simply a wonderful tribute to a friend and friendship…..such friendships are few and to be treasured but also a template for those of us to build our grief and our memories on.
