I’ve always considered the possibility that we are merely figments in the imagination of alien civilizations as justification for eating a second piece of cake. On the other hand, I’ve S utilized a hundred other things as similar justification.
What a delight, Philip, reading your weekly reflections. They're always entertaining, always profound. Thank you for sending them out.
As I finished reading this week's newsletter, The Teachings of Don Juan by Carlos Castaneda came to mind. I read them decades ago and am thinking of going back to them.
Here's a quotation I thought was particularly apt:
"Therefore you must always keep in mind that a path is only a path; if you feel you should not follow it, you must not stay with it under any conditions....
Does this path have a heart? If it does, the path is good; if it doesn't, it is of no use. BOTH PATHS LEAD NOWHERE; but one has a heart, the other doesn't.
I know the meaning of life! When I was a little girl, my father put me on his knee and he said: 'Gabrielle, you must go into the world, and try and make everyone happy, and bring peace and contentment everywhere you go.' And so, I became a waiter.
I liked Holt's book and don't feel inclined to pursue the new one - thanks for saving me the trouble.
Hospitals are no fun - almost invariably bad food, even if the reason one is there and the surroundings were not enough to put oneself off one's appetite. Glad you're on the mend.
This is profound,so much so I feel a little likeS hrodinger.
I hope Schrodinger has an OHIP card.
Things we experience through the filter of our minds are localized modulations of Consciousness, the only reality.
Our purpose is to be the eyes and ears of C (or God) in order that it can be self-aware.

In the hospital with pneumonia? That’s something.
Hope you’re well on the road to recovery.
How refreshing. Thanks for this.
